ONCE UPON A TIME A FEW YEARS AGO...

Having previously been signed to Sony/BMG with Carmen Gray, one of Finland’s finest rock bands, Tom Tikka formed The Impersonators in 2013, a two-man project born out their ashes and designed to cut out the politics and strife which come from the rock ‘n’ roll carnival of band life. Comprising Tom Tikka and lyricist Antti Autio, The Impersonators were a duo which masqueraded as a full band and did everything it could to defy convention and nowhere was this more apparent than in their songs, which homed in on the warts-and-all gnarliness of love and real life.

During their seven-year existence, The Impersonators released merely one album: Life Of Grant. However, the record was well received by the critics and did well on the international iTunes charts. "Rodeo" became a #1 hit single, while "Scarlet Hell" peaked at #9.

The Impersonators received a Josie Award-nomination for Best Rock Song and Best Rock Music Video ("Cloud Nine") in 2020. In addition, Tom Tikka won the ISSA award for International Male Emerging Artist Of The Year in August 2021. Both award organisations nominated The Impersonators' Life Of Grant in the Album Of The Year category.
